How we got started

-

So, about six years ago my wife and I were kind of fed up with the quality of work we were seeing from the company doing the dance performance DVDs for the dance studio where our daughter was studying.  We bought our first digital video camera and recorded a dress rehearsal.  We worked through the post process with some pretty primative tools and got out our first event DVD, the dance studio was  on board instantly.

It wasn't very long and we were doing digital still photography along with the videos. It was a great run and we enjoyed (almost) every minute of it.

Where we're at

-

Recently, I decided to get out of the video part of the game and focus on digital still photography.  There are many reasons why, but ultimately the time was right to move on.

The  gear, the focus, the look are subject to change but the one thing that stays constant is that my passion always comes back to still photography.

Still working out of our home, we've assembled a comprehesive mobile kit and developed a process that allows us to achive our creative goals on-location in most any venue.

What comes next

-

That will be driven by our unique strengths and interests. With two artist/photographers, the possibilites are endless. She gravitates towards children, famlilies and lifestyle work. I lean toward more technical Editorial and Fine Art work. Which is great because we affect each other's work both during sessions and during post, something you won't find in a big box store.

Will we open a studio?

Will we offer other products/services?

Stay tuned to find out!

My exposure to photography (pun intended) began with the Kodak Brownie box camera my grandmother gave me many, many years ago, it was great fun and I took some pretty good pictures with the old camera.  I bought my first 35mm film SLR back in 1983 when I was stationed at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, MS.  I had a fair amount of spare time on my hands when I was there and I burned though quite a few rolls of film shooting a type of street photography. I went on shoot with that camera for years, trying every kind of film from black & white to color slide film. I even tried my hand at wedding photography.

After a long break from serious photography, while on a vacation in Savannah, GA, I realized I was ready for a Digital SLR upon becoming very frustrated with ability of our pocket sized digital camera.  Since then I've upgraded twice, I'm currently working with a Canon 7D and my primary lens is the Canon 24-70mm 2.8L.

My photography interest include: Commercial (Editorial), Product Photography, Glamour, Fashion, HDR Landscapes & Scenics, and Macro Photography.
